Please mark your calendar for Sunday October 18th to join us for the next Nico's Road Dog Tales N' Jam that takes place once a month at The Blue Room bar inside of Cartlandia on SE 82nd. We start at 6pm with a live interactive interview hosted by Nico with one of Portland's finest professional musicians then we invite our guest to play a song or 2 followed by an open jam session with the Free Rein band.
This month's filmed event featured guest is...... The incredible REGGIE HOUSTON! Reggie Houston is origanally from New Orleans but has been in the NW several years and has been a wonderful influence as well as a huge contributor to our Portland music scene. Come by and hear his tales!
WELCOME TO my HOMEPAGE that will introduce me and what's happening right now in my music world. You can find out where I come from, how I got started as a musician, and the road I've traveled since then on my BIO page. You can find out where I've been on my MEDIA page. Other projects, including organizations and bands I'm working on (Road Dog Tales N'Jam, Cedar Rose, Free Rein, Full Circle, and others); my work with Wisdom of the Elders' radio and TV programs; and my karaoke rental business, Nico's Karaoke Pony, will appear on the PROJECTS page. If you'd like to contact me, or to buy my CDs, you'll want to check out the CONTACT page.

We are really excited to continue the celebration of our Portland musicians. Come, take part in the making of and historic preservation of the Portland music scene. It will matter in the future.
Road Dog Tales‘n Jam is about reintroducing our successful and maybe even unsung hero artists to our community. The intention is to provide our spot-lighted artists with a safe and entertaining interview type of platform, led by Nico Wind Cordova.
The idea is that these professionals will get down into the trenches with all of us and share their experiences without hype or ego. They tell their stories, and we receive them firsthand. Some of these tales are hilarious and some are really unbelievable or dramatic, but the point is that their telling should be informative, interactive, and entertaining.
The first hour of the 3-hour evening is the interview of the featured artist by Nico Wind who introduces the guest, traces their journey as artists, and then turns the process over to the audience. They then get to ask questions like what the musical process with coming up with a hook line or a lyric might have been, or why the guest chose a particular route in his or her career and what that was like, and what they might have done differently. This information could be especially educational for people who are looking at music as a possible career. The featured guest might then join in during the second and third hours of Road Tales ‘n Jam for the Jam – meaning that musicians present would be welcome to sign up on a participation sheet and then Jam
with Nico Wind and her Free Rein band.
Nico and a professional film team are capturing
video footage of these interviews for an
Historic Portland Music Scene
documentary produced by Nico Wind and Anne Morin. It will be available to the public in the near future.
Road Dog Tales ‘n Jam will resume programming in the new location every third Sunday of the month starting JULY 19th
in THE BLUE ROOM @ CARTLANDIA
8145 SE 82nd Ave Portland,
with a different guest for the first spotlight hour of each show.
We hope the loyal followers and fellow artists of the Portland music scene will support this important and entertaining program.

Seth & I frequently are invited to perform with Bolt Upright at the Montavilla Station on Sundays,
and occasionally we can be caught appearing with
Ken Brewer and Danny OBrien, Chad Rupp, Josh Makenzie, Ben Jones, Eric Rabe, Naomi Tatsuoka, Kevin Selfe, Ben Rice, Tracey Fordice, and many more.
We actively support the Portland live music jam scene and will appear at local venues to help stimulate businesses in building their revenues so they can employ our local, world class talent.
Our group, Cedar Rose, is a collaborative effort that focuses mostly on traditional and contemporary Native American music. My good friend, Karen Kitchen, and I plan to perform at cultural events throughout the year. I may be collaborating with Toni Garcia who was our featured music artist on Discovering our story TV March 3rd 2013.
In addition to all of the above, you'll find information about my karaoke business, Nico's Karaoke Pony; my work with Wisdom of the Elders' radio and television programs; the introduction of any compositions of new songs I'd like to add to my repertoire; and family and friend news - because it's the people in my life who mean the most to me. Be aware that I consider my four doggies, Chonteh, Isy, Muddy and Etta my family, and so we will celebrate their major events in life along with ours. THANK YOU for visiting my webpage!
