Nico Wind Cordova is a strong soulful vocalist and musician,
with a sassy soulful crowd pleasing confident delivery.
Nico’s experience includes, opening as a solo act for the legendary Ray Charles starting the 1981 tour in Seattle Washington and returning to Seattle inspired by Ray to start her own big band after the tour.
Over the coarse of her extensive career, Nico has opened for several other impressive National head liners such as BB King, Chaka Kahn, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, John Trudel, Keith Secola, Queensryche, Sam Butera, The Coasters, Tom Jones, just to name a few.
Nico has also graced the stages and or recorded sound tracks with world class local Portland Oregon music artists such as Curtis Salgado, Bobby Torres, Marv Ross, Norman Sylvester, Jay "Bird" Koder, The Jim Mesi band, DK Stewart, Duffy Bishop, Lily Wilde, LaRhonda Steel, The Mayther Brothers, Holy Model Rounders, and so many others here in the Pacific North West, throughout the United States and abroad.
Nico has a long extensive touring history of her own playing styles in genres including Blues, Jazz, R&B, Funk, Soul, Rock, Metal Rock, Roots, and Top 40 leading full production bands of up to 16 members.
Nico’s production experience includes not only producing CDs for other local artists, but also producing radio segments for NPR and PBTV which includes writing and performing the music, recording, script writing, and hosting or co-hosting full ongoing series for both radio and TV.
Nico is very connected with her Indigenous roots and is proud to be a “song carrier” singing Native American Traditional and Contemporary music with her group CEDAR ROSE. Nico has contributed to the recordings of such productions as Marv Ross's musical play THE GHOSTS OF CELILO and other films, benifits, Organizations, and events.
